On Thursday, the newly-established European Political Community (EPC) is discussing security, energy, climate issues and the economic situation at its inaugural summit in Prague. On Friday, the Czech capital will host an informal meeting of the European Council.

Along with the 27 EU countries, 17 non-member states, including Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Switzerland, Norway, Kosovo, and the UK have also been invited to the EPC summit, which is also attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Prague Castle complex, which is hosting the two summits, has been closed to the public for two days. Hundreds of police officers, along with the military, have been deployed to protect the guests’ safety. Over 1,200 journalists from all over the world have registered to cover the events in Prague.
