Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, doctors in Czech military hospitals have treated 22 Ukrainian soldiers with complicated, multiple injuries and amputations, with five of them remaining in long-term care, the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.

Patients for treatment are proposed by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence and the final selection depends on the decision of Czech doctors based on the medical documentation.

According to Defence Minister Jana Černochová, providing treatment to wounded members of the Ukrainian army is another way of helping the country. She also stresses that the care of Ukrainian soldiers has not in any way limited the provision of health care to Czech patients.
