Czech animated film About a Cow to premiere in Locarno

The Locarno Film Festival in Italy will present the world premiere of the Czech animated film About a Cow. The short film by illustrator Pavla Baštanová, a graduate of Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, was selected for the competition section for young promising filmmakers Pardi di domani.

The 12-minute film is created using a technique combining painting, drawing and paper collage along with computer animation. The mosaic of stories from all over the world portray the cow as a sensitive creature that deserves admiration.

The Locarno festival runs from 2 to 12 August, with the film About a Cow to be screened for the first time on 8 August.
