Siniaková to play for third Australian Open doubles title

Czech tennis star Kateřina Siniaková has advanced to the Australian Open doubles final, aiming for her third title at the tournament. Partnering with American Taylor Townsend, the top-seeded pair overcame Russia’s Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider in a hard-fought semifinal, winning 6:7, 6:4, 6:3. They will face third seeds Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan and Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko in the final.  “It was a very tough match—up and down—but we played the way we wanted and managed to turn it around,” Siniaková told Tenisovýsvět.cz. Siniaková, the world’s top-ranked doubles player, is chasing her tenth career Grand Slam doubles title. She has reached the Australian Open doubles final four times, winning twice with compatriot Barbora Krejčíková in 2022 and 2023.
