Siniaková wins doubles at Australian Open, claims 10th Grand Slam title
Czech tennis player Kateřina Siniaková secured her third Australian Open doubles title and 10th Grand Slam victory. Partnering with American Taylor Townsend, the top-seeded duo defeated Hsieh Su-wei and Jelena Ostapenko 6:2, 6:7, 6:3 in a two-hour-and-29-minute final. This marks Siniaková and Townsend’s second Grand Slam title together, following their Wimbledon victory last year. The pair earned a prize of 810,000 Australian dollars (approximately 12.2 million CZK). With this win, Siniaková surpasses Helena Suková in the Czech historical rankings and trails only Jana Novotná, who holds 12 doubles Grand Slam titles.
