Repeat Covid infections on rise in CR in recent weeks
The number of people repeatedly contracting Covid-19 has increased in the Czech Republic in recent weeks. There were nearly 4,000 confirmed reinfections – categorised as showing symptoms and at least 60 days apart – in December, according to the State Health Institute. There have been over 12,000 recorded cases of reinfection since the pandemic hit nearly two years ago, the organisation says.
The Institute for Health Information and Statistics says it has registered over 40,000 cases of the same person testing positive since March 2020. It recorded nearly 8,600 cases last month and around 14,500 so far in January.
