Czech Covid deaths pass 40,000 mark
The number of recorded Covid deaths in the Czech Republic has now passed 40,000, reaching 40,022 on Tuesday. The country has a population of 10.7 million and has suffered one of the world’s worst per capita death rates since the coronavirus pandemic began.
Infection rates in the Czech Republic continue to drop from a record high in February, with 3,584 new cases registered on Tuesday; there were also 686 reinfections.
