New Covid cases continue to drop

The coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic continues to slow down. On Saturday, laboratories registered 3,518 new cases of Covid-19, which is nearly 900 fewer than on the same day last week, according to the Ministry of Health data. The number of suspected reinfections dropped to 647 cases.

There are currently 1,677 people hospitalised with Covid-19 and the weekly incidence number stands at 466 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Over 3.7 million people in the Czech Republic contracted the virus since the pandemic hit the country in March 2020 and over 39,500 of them died of Covid related complications.
