Major acceleration in school-age Covid infections in recent months

There have been twice as many recorded Covid infections among elementary and secondary school children in the Czech Republic since the start of this September than there were in the previous year and a half. Some 24 percent of those aged six to 18 have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, with 11 percent testing positive in September, October and November of this year, according to data from the Institute for Health Information and Statistics analysed for the Pedagogical Institute and cited by iRozhlas.cz.

Ministry of Health data shows that at present the highest incidence of Covid is among school children aged six to 11, who as yet are not eligible for vaccines.
