Personal bankruptcies fall by seven percent in Czechia

Czech courts declared 7,614 personal bankruptcies in the first half of this year, seven percent fewer than in the same period of 2025, according to an analysis by CRIF – Czech Credit Bureau. Applications for personal bankruptcy also fell by eight percent. The highest number of cases was recorded in the Moravian-Silesian Region, followed by the Ústí and Central Bohemian regions. The steepest declines were in the Olomouc and Pardubice regions. CRIF analyst Věra Kameníčková said the figures suggest a positive change in the trend, with people's payment discipline improving despite growing consumer borrowing.
