Unemployment rises to 5 percent in July

Unemployment in Czechia rose to five percent in July, from 4.8 percent in June. Labour offices registered 367,346 job seekers, an increase of 11,212 from the previous month, according to figures released by the Czech Labour Office.

Labour and Social Affairs Minister Aleš Juchelka of ANO described the rise as a common, moderate increase during the summer holidays. The number of vacancies also rose, by 1,078 from June to 100,932.
