Unemployment in Czechia rose to 4.4% in February
Unemployment in Czechia rose to 4.4% in February from 4.3% in January, according to data published on Monday by the Labour Office of the Czech Republic. At the end of the month, labour offices registered 326,223 job seekers, 5,707 more month-on-month, although there were also more job offers than in January. Last February, unemployment in Czechia was 4%, with 30,116 fewer job seekers looking for work than at present.
Unemployment rose month-on-month in ten regions. The highest increase was in the Karlovy Vary and Ústí nad Labem regions, where the increase was 0.2 percentage points. By a year-on-year comparison, the share of unemployed people increased most significantly in the Karlovy Vary region.
