Škoda Auto grows profit despite Volkswagen slowdown

Škoda Auto increased its operating profit by around six percent to €1.37 billion in the first half of the year, while revenue also rose by about six percent to more than €16 billion, according to results released by parent company Volkswagen. The Czech carmaker's performance was driven by strong sales of the electric Elroq and Enyaq models, as well as continued demand for the Kodiaq and Superb. The results contrast with those of the wider Volkswagen Group, whose operating profit fell by almost 12 percent. Despite the group's planned restructuring, Škoda Auto says the measures will not directly affect its operations in Czechia.
