ANO leads Czech election poll

The ANO movement would win a Czech parliamentary election with 31.5 percent of the vote, according to a new Kantar CZ poll conducted for Czech Television. Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and Mayors and Independents (STAN) are tied for second place with 15.5 percent each, while the Pirates would receive 9.5 percent and SPD 6.5 percent. The Motorists would narrowly clear the five-percent threshold needed to enter parliament, while the Christian Democrats (KDU-ČSL), TOP 09 and Naše Česko would remain below it. Analyst Nikola Stárková said ODS and STAN have been closely matched for months, with support becoming more evenly distributed following the end of the Spolu coalition.
