Babiš to brief president Pavel on government talks
ANO party leader and the weekend elections winner Andrej Babiš is meeting President Petr Pavel on Monday to update him on post-election negotiations with the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) movement and the Motorists party. In a Facebook video, Babiš said he hopes to finalize the division of ministries by Friday and that an agreement on parliamentary committees is nearly complete. Babiš described the situation as urgent, saying the country is “in a catastrophic state.” President Pavel has convened the first session of the new Chamber of Deputies for November 3, and Babiš said he aims to have the coalition agreement ready before then.
