Petrof responds to US tariff threat by establishing subsidiary Petrof USA

Czech piano manufacturer Petrof has set up its own subsidiary, Petrof USA, in response to the looming threat of 30 percent tariffs on European imports announced by US President Donald Trump. According to company president Zuzana Ceralová Petrofová, the United States accounts for about 11 percent of Petrof’s annual sales. By creating its own sales company in America, Petrof aims to bypass intermediaries and retain more of its profit margins. The firm, founded in 1864, exports over 70 percent of its production to more than 60 countries worldwide.
