1,094,090 foreigners lived in Czechia at the end of 2024, one in ten of the population

The number of foreigners residing in Czechia on a long-term basis is increasing. By the end of last year, authorities had registered 1,094,090 foreign residents. This marked an increase of 28,350, or 2.7 percent, compared to the end of 2023. The proportion of foreigners in the total population reached one-tenth last December.

This data comes from the Interior Ministry's quarterly migration report. According to the report, the largest group of foreign residents in Czechia are Ukrainian citizens, numbering 589,456, followed by 121,472 Slovak citizens and 69,015 Vietnamese citizens.
