Easing of measures likely after number of new coronavirus cases falls further on Tuesday

Tuesday saw 4,246 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus detected in the Czech Republic. That is more than 1,000 fewer cases than on Monday, which had already marked a significant decrease in new cases when compared to data over the past month.

There were 56 deaths from the coronavirus on Tuesday, bringing the total number of deceased since the virus was first detected in the country up to 6,558.

The risk score, calculated along the recently implemented PES evaluation system, remained at 70. The Ministry of Health stated earlier in the week that if the score stays at 70 until Wednesday it will result in a lowering of the risk level and consequentially a partial easing of restrictions.
