Kvitová into last eight in Miami but Fruhvirtová out

Petra Kvitová has reached the quarter-finals of tennis’s Miami Open. The two-time Wimbledon champion, who is 32, overcame Veronika Kudermetova of Russia 7-6 6-4 on Monday to reach the competition’s last eight.

Her compatriot Linda Fruhvirtová, who is 16, is out of the tournament after losing 2-6 3-6 to Paula Badosa of Spain.
