Three Czech women into quarter-finals in Cincinnati

Czechia’s Markéta Vondroušová, Karolína Muchová and Marie Bouzková have reached the quarter-finals at tennis’s Cincinnati Open. Recent Wimbledon winner Vondroušová overcame Sloane Stephens of the US 7-5 6-3 on Thursday, Muchová beat Maria Sakkari of Greece 6-3 2-6 6-3 and Marie Bouzková triumphed against America’s Jessica Pegula 6-4 6-0.

Another Czech, 18-year-old Linda Nosková, failed to make the last eight in Cincinnati, losing 4-6 0-6 to Coco Gauff of the US.
