Czechia has recorded 2 million Covid cases to date
Since the coronavirus pandemic began, 2 million people in the Czech Republic have contracted the virus, according to Ministry of Health data.
On Sunday, 8,244 new cases were registered, the most ever for that day of the week and 2,600 more than on the previous Sunday.
Meanwhile, the incidence number rose to a new record, with more than 1,000 newly infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in the past week. The Olomouc region recorded the highest incidence with 1,426 cases per 100,000.
