Starmer: coalition of the willing will help secure Ukraine, Czech PM Fiala joins
Following a virtual meeting with global leaders, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the “coalition of the willing” will draft plans to help secure Ukraine by land, sea, and air if a peace agreement with Russia is reached. The talks with the participation of the Czech PM Petr Fiala (Civic Deocratic Party) followed a London summit earlier this month and will address a proposed 30-day ceasefire, which Ukraine has agreed to. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today that clear security guarantees must be defined and emphasized the need to form military contingents that could serve as the foundation of future European armed forces. Zelenskyy said such contingents, stationed in Ukraine, would strengthen peace alongside U.S. involvement as a security guarantee. He stressed that Europe's long-term security depends on proactive defence cooperation and deeper integration of military efforts.
