PM Fiala highlights Czech ammo initiative at global Ukraine conference
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala (Civic Democratic Party) highlighted his country’s role in supplying ammunition to Ukraine during a virtual summit convened by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Writing on X, Fiala said leaders discussed ways to enhance aid to Ukraine and emphasized that those willing to act for European security should not be blocked by others. He welcomed the participation of non-EU countries like the UK in the “coalition of the willing.” Starmer said the group also agreed on the need to pressure Russia into peace talks. In 2024, Czechia has helped deliver about 1.5 million artillery shells to Ukraine.
