Supreme Audit Office slams delays in developing electronic information system for legal regulations

The Supreme Audit Office has criticized the Ministry of the Interior for excessive delays in the development of an electronic information system for issuance of legal regulations in the Czech Republic (eSeL). The process was extended from three to nine years, and according to an audit by the Supreme Audit Office, it will become significantly more expensive as a result, costing CZK 903 million instead of CZK 482 million. Although the system was meant to be ready in 2020, the launch date has been postponed until 2026. Originally, the system was meant to be financed largely from European funds. Due to the delay and price increase most of the money will have to come from the state budget.
