Second Czech evacuation plane from Kabul arrives in Prague

A second Czech Army evacuation plane arrived in Prague from the Afghan capital Kabul at around 10:30 on Tuesday night. The Airbus was carrying 87 passengers, including Czechs, Afghans and two Poles. The ministers of defence and foreign affairs, Lubomír Metnar and Jakub Kulhánek, said ambassador Jiří Baloun, Czech soldiers and Afghan co-workers and their families had been on board.

The army said it had immediately sent its plane back to Kabul to pick up more people.

The crisis committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will discuss the fate of the Afghans evacuated already at a meeting on Wednesday.
