Czech ambassador to Afghanistan and staff to have “evacuated employee” status

The Czech ambassador to Afghanistan, Jiří Baloun, and other employees of the Czech Embassy in Kabul will have “evacuated employee” status for three months, ​​Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek told the ctk news agency.

The ministry will also continue paying rent on its premises in Kabul and await to see how the situation in the country develops. The embassy staff, its Afghan employees and collaborators were evacuated to Prague in a dramatic rescue operation at the start of this week. The evacuation plane brought 170 Afghan nationals out of Kabul.
