Saturday Covid cases lowest in five weeks
A total of 9,080 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the Czech Republic on Saturday, the lowest number of new positive cases registered on a Saturday in five weeks.
Health Ministry data show that the number of daily positive cases has been in decline for the past ten days in a row.The incidence number fell to an average of 871 cases per 100,000 people, the lowest incidence rate since November 18. Meanwhile, the reproduction number lies at 0.83.
Saturday also saw a seventh case of the omicron variant detected in the Czech Republic, specifically in South Bohemia.
A total of 5,766 people infected with the coronavirus are currently hospitalised of which 1,012 are in serious condition.
