Coronavirus: Sunday hospitalisations highest since mid-June
Sunday saw hospitalisations of patients infected with COVID-19 reach their highest number since June 17, with 113 people in hospital of which 17 require intensive care. However, the number of people who tested positive for the virus on Sunday – 138 – is similar to the one detected a week ago. The reproduction number fell on Sunday from 1.4 to 1.2.
Currently, the hotspot of the COVID-19 epidemic in Czechia is the Karlovy Vary Region, where the incidence number - the weekly average number of cases per 100,000 people in the population - lies at 48. Prague, trails just behind with an incidence number of 42. The least affected area is currently the Liberec Region, with an incidence number of 11.
