Railway accident disrupts traffic

Rail traffic between Přerov and Ostrava was disrupted by a collision of freight trains late on Thursday night, the ctk news agency reported. One of the trains was derailed and there is reported to be substantial damage to the rails. No one was injured in the accident. The damage is being estimated at around 21 million crowns. Clean up work is still underway and Czech railways says it would take the better part of the day to renew operations. Three wagons were overturned in the accident with the logs they were transporting spilling onto the tracks. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
