President Pavel denies campaigning for re-election

Czech President Petr Pavel says he has not yet decided whether to seek a second term and rejects claims that he is already campaigning for re-election. Speaking to CNN Prima News, Pavel said he plans to announce his decision in the middle of next year and would only begin campaigning after formally declaring his candidacy. Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) has repeatedly accused the president of already running a campaign. Pavel said his decision would depend primarily on his and his family’s health, as well as the level of public support for another presidential bid.
