Prague rated the coolest student city in Europe!
Prague ranks as the number one student city in Europe, surpassing London, Paris, and Berlin in key categories like cost of living and safety, according to Campus Advisor.
Prague has emerged as the best student city in Europe, according to new rankings from The Campus Advisor, a platform that helps students find their ideal university. The Czech capital outperformed major cities like Paris, London, and Berlin, offering a blend of safety, affordability, and vibrant culture. The rankings are based on reviews collected from thousands of students worldwide, reflecting their experiences across key factors such as accommodation, activities, and overall student life.
Brian Moran, founder of The Campus Advisor, highlighted that the platform uses data from current and former students, along with AI-powered recommendation tools, to help prospective students make informed choices. “Our goal is to create a network that helps students find their ideal university based on their personality, preferences, and background,” Moran explained. “We’re also collecting a lot of data about cities, which helps us provide a more complete picture for future students.”

The rankings revealed that Prague’s consistent performance across categories like cost of living, safety, and cultural activities set it apart from other global student cities. “When we looked at cities like London, we found that the cost of living and safety were major concerns for students,” said Moran. “In Prague, it’s quite the opposite. The city scores well in all our categories, and that’s why it’s at the top of the charts.”
Feedback from international students was a key factor in Prague’s success. Students praised the city's rich cultural offerings, vibrant nightlife, and range of amenities. “The students we surveyed often mentioned that they feel very safe in Prague,” Moran added. “They also said the city offers a lot of activities and that they’re never bored. With a more affordable cost of living, students have the freedom to explore the city and participate in events, which adds to their overall experience.”
Interestingly, Prague’s dominance is a recent development. Last year, the Czech city of Brno ranked ahead of Prague, but the capital regained its top spot in the latest rankings. “It can vary from year to year,” Moran noted. “In the last year, we’ve seen students noting that the cost of living has improved in Prague, which helped it close the gap with Brno.”
The rankings are based on reviews submitted within the past year, with Campus Advisor collecting 17,000 reviews from students globally. Moran emphasized that the platform’s aim is to keep the data fresh and relevant. “We always use the most recent reviews to ensure we’re giving prospective students the most up-to-date information possible,” he said.
As Prague continues to appeal to students with its blend of safety, affordability, and cultural richness, it solidifies its place as one of the most attractive cities for higher education on the global stage.
