Novo Nordisk invests CZK 8 billion in Czech production plant

Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk has invested more than CZK 8 billion (around €325 million) in a production facility at Jevany, near Prague, including CZK 3.5 billion to modernise the site. The plant, which began production this month, will manufacture components for the company's latest diabetes and obesity medicines. Novo Nordisk acquired the former vaccine factory in 2024 for CZK 4.8 billion. Around 300 people currently work at the facility. The company says production will initially focus on clinical development before gradually expanding to full-scale manufacturing.
