Over 40 percent of Czech firms to respond to minimum wage increase

More than 40 percent of Czech businesses plan to adjust their operations following January’s increase in the minimum wage, according to a ČSOB survey of 347 employers. The government has approved a rise of 2,500 crowns to 24,900 crowns gross per month from January 2027. Over 11 percent of businesses intend to raise prices, nine percent will seek savings elsewhere, while four percent plan to reduce recruitment and another four percent expect layoffs. The survey found that 27 percent anticipate a negative financial impact, while 56 percent plan no changes. Around 30 percent support the increase, with one-third opposed.
