Battle of White Mountain re-enacted in Prague
Hundreds of historical re-enactors from Czechia and abroad are taking part in a reconstruction of the Battle of White Mountain in Prague this weekend. More than 50 groups in period costume will recreate the clash between the forces of the Habsburg Emperor and the rebellious Bohemian Estates on November 8, 1620. The programme includes cavalry, artillery, musket fire and historical military camps, alongside a period market and lectures. The original battle lasted less than two hours and ended in the defeat of the Bohemian rebels, effectively bringing their uprising against Habsburg rule to an end.
