Over 1,000 people to take part in White Mountain battle reenactment in Prague

More than 1,000 people from Czechia and other European countries will take part in a reenactment of the Battle of White Mountain at Vypich in Prague 6, near the Hvězda Game Reserve, marking the 405th anniversary of the clash between the Protestant estates and Habsburg forces.

The battle will begin at 3:00 p.m., and spectators will be able to watch it at the same time on Sunday. The program will also include music, dance, lectures, and a market offering food and traditional crafts.

The Battle of White Mountain on November 8, 1620, saw the forces of Habsburg Emperor Ferdinand II suppress the uprising of the Czech non-Catholic estates. After the battle, the Czech lands remained part of the Habsburg monarchy until 1918.
