Czech crown jewels go on display for schoolchildren at Prague Castle

An exhibition of the Czech crown jewels opens at Prague Castle’s Vladislav Hall on Tuesday. The first four days are reserved for school groups, before the exhibition opens to the general public on Saturday, September 19. Admission is free and the display runs until September 28. Visitors will see the St Wenceslas Crown, royal sceptre and orb, the coronation robe from 1653 and other historic objects. This year’s exhibition, entitled Habsburgs 500, traces the history of the jewels from the accession of Ferdinand I to the Czech throne in 1526 through the end of the 18th century.
