Czech aristocrat Filip Sternberg dies at 69

Filip Sternberg, owner of Český Šternberk Castle in the Benešov region and a descendant of the prominent Sternberg noble family, died in Vienna on Saturday at the age of 69 following a serious illness, the Czech News Agency reported.

Sternberg was born in Prague on October 29, 1956, the only son of Zdeněk Sternberg and his wife Alžběta. He emigrated to Vienna with his parents in 1968, where he studied law. Following the restitution of the family's property, he helped his father manage the estates and took over their administration after his father's death in 2021. His daughter Anastasia will now take over management of the family property.
