Czech paracyclist Patrik Jahoda wins world time trial title

Czech paracyclist Patrik Jahoda has become world champion in the handbike time trial in Huntsville, United States. The 33-year-old improved on the bronze he won at last year’s championships in the H1 category to claim his first world title.

Jahoda won the 14.6-kilometre race in extreme heat, finishing 14.64 seconds ahead of home rider Barry Wilcox.

“I have dreamed of this moment for 16 years, ever since I started riding a handbike. It is the best day of my life,” the new world champion said.

Pavlína Vejvodová took silver in the T1 tricycle category.
