Ledecká named Czech Athlete of the Year for third time

Skier and snowboarder Ester Ledecká has been named Czech Athlete of the Year for the third time in her career. The 30-year-old world champion won the 67th edition of the journalists’ poll with 1,466 points, finishing 123 points ahead of sprint canoeist Martin Fuksa. Hockey player David Pastrňák placed third. Ledecká previously won the award in 2018 and 2022. The men’s volleyball national team won the team award after finishing fourth at the world championships. The results were announced at a ceremony in Prague’s Hilton hotel.
