Czechia tightens security after suspected sabotage incidents in Germany

Czechia has introduced additional security measures following suspected sabotage incidents in neighbouring countries, Interior Minister Lubomír Metnar (ANO) said on Friday. He did not disclose details, citing security concerns, but the Czech daily Právo reports that protection has been stepped up at airports and railway stations. Metnar said the security situation in Czechia remained stable and the terrorism threat level was unchanged. Germany has recently faced several suspected acts of sabotage, including an attempted drone bomb attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport in August. The German government has blamed Russia for the attack, which apparently targeted Ukrainian Antonov aircraft. Moscow has denied responsibility.
