GLOBSEC report: Over 110 Russia-linked sabotage attacks in Europe, including Czechia, since 2022
A new report by GLOBSEC and the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism reveals that since 2022, Europe has experienced more than 110 sabotage attacks or attempts with confirmed links to Russia. These incidents primarily involved physical acts such as arson and vandalism, excluding cyber and information operations. Five cases were reported in Czechia. GLOBSEC is a Bratislava-based think tank focused on security, democracy, and international affairs. The authors note that following the expulsion of hundreds of Russian agents from Europe, Moscow has redirected its efforts towards exploiting organized crime and targeting vulnerable communities. In Czechia, attempts to disrupt public order included bomb threats against schools. Similar incidents were also reported in Slovakia and Estonia.
