Czechia plans tighter tracking of Russian diplomats

The Czech Foreign Ministry and intelligence services are preparing changes to the system for notifying authorities about Russian diplomats’ movements in Europe, Foreign Minister Petr Macinka said on Wednesday. The move comes in the wake of Germany’s claim that Russia is to blame for an August security incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport, where a drone carrying an explosive device was found near Ukrainian cargo planes. Mr. Macinka earlier called the findings regarding the drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport “alarming” saying he would discuss the incident with the Czech Republic’s intelligence services.
