FM Macinka: German findings on Leipzig airport attack ‘alarming’

Foreign Minister Petr Macinka says Germany’s findings regarding the drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport are alarming and must be taken seriously. Speaking to reporters ahead of an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Ireland, Macinka said he plans to discuss the matter with Czech intelligence services in the coming days.

Macinka also reiterated that he had summoned Russian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Anna Ponomaryova in connection with the incident.

At a news conference on Tuesday senior German officials blamed Russia after a drone carrying an explosive device was discovered near Ukrainian cargo planes at Leipzig/Halle Airport in eastern Germany last month.
