Partial lunar eclipse visible over Czechia early Friday

A partial lunar eclipse was visible over Czechia early on Friday morning. The eclipse began at around 4:33 a.m., with the Earth’s shadow eventually covering up to 93 percent of the Moon’s diameter. The maximum phase occurred shortly before 6:13 a.m., as the Moon was already approaching the horizon. The phenomenon could be observed with the naked eye in places with clear skies, with the best viewing conditions in the southwest of the country. According to the Czech Astronomical Society, the next total lunar eclipse visible from Czechia will occur on New Year’s Eve 2028.
