Number of children in Czech pre-schools continues falling

The number of children in Czech pre-schools in the last academic year was lower than 350,000 for the first time since 2012/2013, according to official data released on Thursday.

Over the past three years, the number of children in kindergartens fell by over 20,000, or by nearly 6 percent.

This trend is linked to the number of births in Czechia, which has been steadily falling for five years in a row.
