Czech ambassadors from around world in Prague for annual gathering

On Monday the Czech Republic’s ambassadors from around the world gathered in Prague at the Czernin Palace, the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for an annual week-long series of meetings. Officials said the conference would focus on reinforcing Czechia’s security and prosperity within the framework of the European Union, the development of international partnerships and the support of the country’s interests abroad.

In an opening speech, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš told delegates that Czechia supported rapid expansion of the European Union to include Western Balkans states. He said he hoped Montenegro would become the 28th member of the bloc in 2028.
