Summer Film School honours Ester Krumbachová

This year's Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště is paying tribute to Ester Krumbachová, one of the most influential figures of the Czechoslovak New Wave. Best known as a costume designer, screenwriter and the director of The Murder of Mr. Devil, she helped shape classics such as Daisies and Diamonds of the Night. Alongside screenings of films she worked on, the festival has opened an exhibition featuring photographs by Libuše Jarcovjáková, costume designs, jewellery, amulets and personal documents. Organisers say the retrospective offers a comprehensive look at Krumbachová's lasting influence on Czech and Czechoslovak cinema.
