Zetor ends tractor production in Brno, moves manufacturing to India

Czech tractor maker Zetor Tractors is ending tractor production in Brno after 80 years, relocating manufacturing to India as production in Europe is no longer considered economically efficient, the company said.

Brno will remain home to the company's headquarters and development centre, while a spare parts business and distribution hub are also being established there.

The end of production will affect 33 employees, according to a company press release.

Since 2024, Zetor has been assembling tractors in Brno from existing stockpiled components, having already ended the production of gearboxes and engines. The company employed around 150 people in Brno last year.
