Czech football club Karviná expelled over match-fixing
The Ethics Committee of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR) has expelled MFK Karviná from Czech football after finding the club responsible for influencing the outcome of three top-flight league matches.
The club was also fined 10 million crowns.
Karviná mayor and MFK representative Jan Wolf received a 12-year ban from all football-related activities for his role in influencing the three matches. He was additionally fined 3 million crowns.
The Ethics Committee announced the sanctions in a statement published on its website, adding that the decision is not yet final and remains subject to appeal.
