Government to discuss new rules for minority and Roma grants

The Czech government is due to discuss new regulations on Monday governing state grants for national minority projects and Roma integration programmes. Under the proposal, responsibility for the funding schemes will shift from the Government Office to the ministries of Culture, Labour and Education from July. The changes would also allow state support for digital projects, including online publications, social media content and streaming, aimed at preserving minority languages, culture and traditions. The new regulation is intended to modernise and unify existing grant rules while supporting education, cultural activities, research and initiatives promoting the inclusion of Roma communities.
